Two of the six KJCCC teams are featured in the latest NJCAA Division 1 softball poll while the remaining four teams are all in the latest NJCAA Division 2 softball poll. Remaining just outside the top 25 and among a group of five teams receiving votes is Hutchinson as the Blue Dragons went 3-1 last week which included a home sweep over Colby before splitting a road doubleheader at Garden City.
Starting to build some separation as the best KJCCC Division 2 team, Neosho County makes a three-spot improvement this week to move up to 17th in the latest top 25 poll as the Panthers are currently tied for the KJCCC lead at 13-1 in conference play while sporting a 25-11 overall record. The lone loss for NCCC since starting conference play on March 27th is a one-run road loss at Allen as the Panthers have been perfect in all six of their other KJCCC doubleheaders. Also ranked from the KJCCC this week is Kansas City Kansas in 20th and Johnson County in 21st as both the Blue Devils and Cavaliers hold down top three spots in the KJCCC Division 2 softball standings with 11-3 marks in conference play. The only action last week for KCKCC was a road doubleheader at Neosho County while Johnson County went 3-1 last week with a sweep over Independence before splitting with Coffeyville. Also in the mix for a KJCCC Division 2 softball title and now receiving votes in the latest top 25 poll is Cowley as the Tigers have won eight straight games dating back to April 7th with seven of the eight wins coming by run-rule.
