KJCCC Women's Basketball Players of the Week, Week 7, 2015-16
Freshman forward Kirea Rogers had a strong week in leading the No. 8 Hutchinson Blue Dragons to a pair of victories. She averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 3.0 blocked in wins over the Southwestern JV and Independence. Rogers shot 88.2 percent for the week. Against Southwestern, Rogers had 20 points on 9 of 10 shooting and a career-best seven steals. She was 6 of 7 shooting in a 17-point, seven-rebound performance against Independence. She also had a career-best four blocked shots and three steals. Rogers ranks in the Jayhawk Conference's top 5 in scoring, FG percentage and rebounding.
Sophomore forward Cheyenne North, Kansas City KS, had monster stats in two games this past week. North averaged over 18 points and over 13 rebounds for the period. In a win over Central Methodist JV, she had 18 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists to go along with two steals and two blocked shots. In a victory over North Arkansas, North scored 19 points, pulled down 15 rebounds, and had eight assists and five blocked shots.
