2016-17 KJCCC Women's Basketball Players of the Week, Week 6
Sophomore forward Kirea Rogers posted back-to-back double-doubles as the No. 10 Hutchinson Blue Dragons earned victories over No. 21 Butler and a road win at Barton. For the week, Rogers averaged 16.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Against Butler, Rogers was 13 of 13 from the free-throw line, which tied for the 10th most free throws in Hutch single-game history. Rogers has three double-doubles this season.
Highland freshman Mariane Carvalho had an incredibly efficient Holiday Classic in Beatrice, Nebraska as she shot 50% from the 3 point line, 100% from the free throw line, and 61% from the field. She averaged 23 points in 2 games to lead the Scotties over Central and Southeast Nebraska. Carvalho also collected 3 blocks and 7 rebounds in those games.
