2016-17 KJCCC Women's Basketball Players of the Week, Week 9
Sophomore Bride Kennedy-Hopoate had a solid week for the No. 6 Hutchinson Blue Dragons in victories over Independence and Dodge City. Against Indy, Kennedy-Hopoate had 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists in a decisive home win over the Pirates. For the week, Kennedy-Hopoate averaged 16.5 points per game while shooting 76.5 percent. She averaged eight rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
Szonja Vukov completed her 22nd double-double at Highland Community College scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Vukov became the career leader in field goals all-time for Highland as well. She did this in an extremely efficient night going 8-11 from the field and 3-5 from the 3 point line. She also contributed 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block.
