Co-Player of the Week: Nariyah Simmons – Johnson County Community College
Nariyah Simmons, the 2021-22 KJCCC D-II Freshman and Defensive Player of the Year, had a continued her hot start to the 2022-23 campaign, averaging 18.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 steal while leading the No. 4-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team to three victories last week. Simmons also made over 55 percent of her shot attempts last week. A highlight during the week came in a 91-42 win over Southwestern where she career high for field goas made (10), 3-point field goals made (6) and points (27).
Co-Player of the Week: Jada Johnson – Kansas City Kansas Community College
Jada Johnson led the Blue Devils in scoring last week, totaling 22.0 points per game, while shooting 64.2 percent from the field as well as from long range. The Blue Devils racked up three straight wins to stay undefeated at 6-0. Jada played a key performance against Metropolitan CC helping the team battle back from a 17-point halftime deficit to defeat the Wolves 60-50.Johnson is ranked 23rd in the nation with 19.0 points per game.
