KJCCC Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week, Wk. 3

Cloud County freshman Izabella Christina has started the 2018 season on a torrid pace. The Brazilian forward posted back-to-back games with two goals and an assists in Cloud County’s conference wins over Hesston College and Dodge City. Christina currently ranks third in the KJCCC in total goals (7) and points (16).

Sophomore Reyna Gonzalez faced a barrage of shots Saturday at Hutchinson Community College in turning back twelve of the Blue Dragons shots on frame. Two of the goals game in unfortunate situations with the Cougars leading by two late in the contest, the first coming on an own goal as the ball deflected off a Barton defender for an own goal. With three minutes remaining in regulation, a defensive miscue resulted in a Blue Dragon penalty kick as the game tying goal was just off Gonzalez’ finger tips.
