2025 KJCCC D1 Women's Soccer Players of the Week - Week 1
COLBY, Kan. – Leading their teams to season-opening wins last week, Barton Community College’s Ayaka Nagano and Seward County’s Carline Benck have been honored with the first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week awards in 2025.
Ayaka Nagano (Barton) – KJCCC D1 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
Ayaka Nagano delivered an impressive collegiate debut, scoring twice in the first half of Barton's 5-1 win over Western Iowa Tech. The freshman forward made the most of her opportunities, converting both of her shots for a perfect 1.000 shooting percentage to set the tone in the Cougars’ season-opening victory.
Caroline Benck (Seward County) – KJCCC D1 Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Benck played all 90 minutes between the pipes for Seward County, leading the Lady Saints to a 2-1 road victory at Otero Junior College last week. Both saves for Benck came after seeing the Saints fall behind 1-0 just four minutes into the contest, with SCCC earning a come-from-behind victory to give head coach Marcela Bueno her first win leading the Lady Saints.
