Cloud County Women's Track Wins NJCAA Region 6 Outdoor Track and Field Championship Title
COFFEYVILLE, Kan. – After earning NJCAA Region 6 runner-up finishes each of the past two years, the Cloud County Community College women’s track and field team turned nine event wins and three school records into the 2025 NJCAA Region 6 Women’s Outdoor Track and Field team title by 75 total points.
Matching their nine NJCAA Region 6 individual championship performances from the 2025 Indoor meet in February, the T-Birds finished the meet with 197 points to easily outpace the 14-team field as Barton finished a distant second with 122 points and Hutchinson in third with 95 total points. Rounding out the top eight of the team scoring was Cowley (79.5 points), Fort Scott (71.5 points), Coffeyville (67 points), Garden City (53 points), and Colby (44 points). In the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East and West Division scoring, Cloud County won the west with 238 points with Barton taking second (158 points) and Hutchinson placing third (138 points) while the East Division saw Cowley win the Division title with 195.5 points ahead of Fort Scott (159.5 points) and Coffeyville (143 points).
Led by the NJCAA Region 6 Outdoor Track Athlete of the meet Maimuna Jallow and NJCAA Region 6 High Point Athlete of the Meet Nanhi Pannu, Cloud County set two new NJCAA Region 6 Outdoor Track and Field Championship records with Jallow setting new records in the 100-meter dash (11.18 seconds) and 200-meter dash (22.92 seconds). Both times were the fastest in the NJCAA this season.
KJCCC Coaching honors were earned by Cloud County’s Drew Mahin and Robert Wood (KJCCC Women’s Co-Head Coach of the Year) and Cowley’s Glenwood Edwards and Hutchinson’s Jafet Molinares (KJCCC Co-Women’s Assistant Coaches of the Year).
