Cowley's Hanna Darvas Named NJCAA Division 2 Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
CHARLOTTE, NC – For the second time this season, Cowley Community College setter Hanna Darvas has been named the NJCAA Division 2 Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week after helping the top-ranked Tigers go 5-0 last week with four wins over ranked opponents.
CHARLOTTE, NC – For the second time this season, Cowley Community College setter Hanna Darvas has been named the NJCAA Division 2 Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week after helping the top-ranked Tigers go 5-0 last week with four wins over ranked opponents.
(Hanna Darvas – Cowley (NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week) Darvas was a strong presence at the setter position that allowed Cowley to sweep five matches last week which included matches against teams that were ranked number six, seven, 10, and 17 in the NJCAA D2 volleyball poll. In the five matches, Darvas recorded four double-doubles and averaged 11.46 assists per set while averaging 3.54 digs per set. Darvas also averaged 0.92 aces per set on the week and leads KJCCC D2 volleyball in Assists per set (12.14), is second in KJCCC D2 volleyball in total assists (935), and second in the NJCAA in assists per set. Serving as the primary setter, Darvas leads a Cowley offense that leads NJCAA D2 volleyball in kills per set (14.99), assists per set (14.28), points per set (19.1), and is second in the nation in hitting percentage (.339).
Darvas is the first player from the KJCCC to earn multiple NJCAA Division 2 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors this season.
