Cowley's Laura Bonomi Named NJCAA Division 2 Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
CHARLOTTE, NC – After being named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, Cowley Community College outside hitter Laura Bonomi has been named the NJCAA Division 2 Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for her performances after helping the top-ranked Tigers defeat number two ranked Johnson County last week.
CHARLOTTE, NC – After being named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, Cowley Community College outside hitter Laura Bonomi has been named the NJCAA Division 2 Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for her performances after helping the top-ranked Tigers defeat number two ranked Johnson County last week.
(Laura Bonomi – Cowley (NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week) Bonomi personally controlled the main offensive categories on the week by averaging 4.67 kills per set and 1.33 service aces per set. The sophomore also averaged 4.33 digs per set and passed a 2.47 passer rating on the week. Bonomi recorded six service aces against Labette and eight service aces on the week to go along with double-doubles in both matches with 16 kills and 11 digs against Labette and 12 kills and 15 digs against number two-ranked Johnson County. For the season, Bonomi has 12 double-doubles out of Cowley's 21 matches on the season and 33 in her Cowley career. Leads KJCCC Division 2 volleyball in kills per set (4.38), second in total kills (289) while also ranking in the top five in hitting percentage (.401). Bonomi also ranks 11th in the NJCAA in Kills per set, and points per set.
