
Garden City scores double digit runs again; sweeps Trinidad State
Trinidad, CO-Maria Avendano Fori drove in three more runs, Daryelin Rivas Chavez hit a home run and scored three times, and Garden City competed a sweep of Trinidad State, 12-2 in game two Sunday afternoon.
Jade Hendrix and Zoe Lampe each collected two hits, and Chiara Olison scattered five hits in five innings for the Broncbusters, which improved to 6-4 overall. After an 0-4 start, Garden City has outscored their last six opponents, 92-12.
The Broncbusters broke open a 3-2 game in the fourth. Chavez and Julissa Galicia each homered before Garden City exploded for seven in the fifth. Olison doubled home one, Keiry Abreu slapped an RBI single, Lampe scored on a passed ball, and Abreu and Galicia came around following an error by Isabelle Salinas at short.
Olison improved to 3-0 in the circle posting a pair of strikeouts.
Trinidad Starter, Delorin Bellomy was lit up for nine runs on 11 hits in 4.1 innings.
